Lou Moon Lodge, Axim

We took a plane from Accra to Takoradi. Then Lou Moon service picked us up from the airport. We were six in total. Lou Moon had a pick up and then a taxi to take the rest.

First of all, the taxi broke down :s So our two friends were stuck at the airport and our ride to the the resort took longer than it should have. Although that taxi ride had an air-conditioner so I think the guys that rode on it didn't think it was that bad.

Lou Moon was absolutely beautiful. Calm, relaxing and the service was great. The room we had a beautiful view of the beach. I loved that the beach didn't have waves that would hit us down while swimming. The girls and I spent a great deal just allowing the soft waves let us float as we chit chat until the sun fell.

Pricey but worth the splurge if you're looking for a get away from Accra city. A different kind of laid back. :)

Big Milly's, Kokrobite, Accra

Reggae night every Saturday by the beach!
The live band and beach crazed crowd gives a different vibe than Accra night outs. Go in flip flops and light clothing and dance away :)

I went last Saturday, the road towards the place is terrible because of the rain, but it was well worth it. (and I was very much glad I wasn't driving!)

White Sands, Gomoa Fetteh, Ghana

White Sands, some years back, was open to all. When I came back in 2007, I found out the owner made it exclusive for members only.  However, guests are allowed to visit with payment of an entrance fee. My friend and I went on a Sunday, we were endorsed by one of our other friends who was a member. It's less than an hour's drive from Accra.

The day was so relaxing and absolutely enjoyable!!!
It is quite pricey, though.

Abandze Beach Resort

For the Easter break, a bunch of friends and myself drove to Abandze, which is like a 2hour-ish drive from Accra.

I did nothing but eat, drink, sleep, get sweet sweet kisses from the sun... :) very relaxing.
"Abandze says RELAX..."

We also walked from Abandze to Fort Amsterdam. There'll be a guy who will give you a short tour and history about the place.

If you're looking for a mellow weekend away from Accra, this resort is small, quiet and for the 'dolce farniente' do-ers :)

Hillburi, Aburi

http://www.hillburi.com/

I have been there a few times and always had a relaxed day by the pool :) Would definitely recommend it for a day trip. I have never stayed for the weekend, but it's on my to do list. I like the greenery around.

Loved the signs that are by the bar. Funny!!
Here are two that I took pics of:

Monsoon, Accra

I went for sushi tonight with my schatz because she's traveling on Sunday and I won't see her until September!!!!!! *tear, tear* :p

Monsoon is known for good sushi here in Accra. Kudos to Noy, the sushi chef and Alan, the Teppanyaki chef!! Then there's Michael, I think he's from Japan - kudos to him too! The service today was quick and our waiter actually got a tip that he really worked for. :) It's not always that this happens so you can imagine how happy I am feeling.

A must try: MICHEAL'S GIFT

For dessert, try the brownie or a sorbet! :)

Labone Junction at 6.30pm

So my sister and I were going to get my car tires pumped at Labone Junction today at around 6.30-ish in the evening. It was a bit dark already so my sister, who was driving put on the headlights. We arrive at the place to pump the tires, but we found out the guy had closed for the day.

AND we also found him half naked in his boxers (the real thin ones that has the cut in the private part area!) taking a bath! He was panicking because my sister hadn't realized she had her lights on him and she was exposing him to EVERYONE (including the main road!).

His friend, who my sister was initially talking too, was giggling and politely told my sister and I what we were doing. Whooopppps!!!*LOL*

I moved back to Ghana in 2007 after being away for almost 8 years. It has been a blast coming back and I think it is absolutely great that it is slowly developing and improving. Since I got back, I have been able to revisit old tourist spots, restaurants (renovated or not), stores, shops and even my old school. I have also been able to see new places and try new food, bars, clubs, etc.

I figured it is high time to start documenting all that! :) And lucky for me, I have found my place in a fantastic set of friends who will share those moments with me!

Akwaaba :)
